Thank you for all the prayers for my recent trip to Haiti May 16-24th.
There is so much to share but I'll just share highlights.
Highlights:
1. The team I went w/ was amazing and forever grateful for them being filled with the Spirit of God,
patient as schedules changed, and brave to go into some dangerous areas to minister and love people.
They brought so much encouragement, love for the children, and connections for Pastor Bobby.
We represented 4 churches in So. California. Thank you to the 4 churches that kept praying for us as we went.
2. Everything I envisioned before leaving on this trip happened. God showed me things to do and what
would happen. I was able to bring supplies for the orphanage, encourage the staff that are volunteering
to care for the kids and teach the children in school, encourage Pastor Julian (he lost his wife, home,
orphanage, school, and church building in the earthquake), meet with local leaders and pastors to strategies
on ways to reach Haiti for Jesus, connect Pastor Bobby with other pastors for fellowship, networking,
discipleship, encouragement, and accountability, and then preach the Gospel to a crowd of people in a
city town square during flag day in the city where the flag was made called Saint-Marc
where the president celebrated.
3. On this trip we had 12 divine appointments that developed partnerships with Pastor Bobby, 5 healings,
30plus salvations, a container from the Mexican government was given to the orphanage with 2 little rooms
filled to the ceiling and a big storage room filled to the top with food, diapers, water bottles, paper goods,
and cleaning supplies.
4. Meet with Pastor Julian who has planted 7 churches all over Haiti (2 in North Haiti, 3 in Port au Prince area,
1 East near Dominican Republic, 1 in South Haiti) and has been a pastor in Haiti for 30 years. I preached at his
church last trip and spent the day with him. It was good to connect with him again. He prays for me everyday.
He has talked to his other pastors and said he loves what Set Free church stands for and how they are
all about Jesus. He told me Sunday before I preached that he is changing his church name to Set Free church
and wants to come aboard with us. He said the other 7 churchs in Haiti are going to change to Set Free church
as well. He announced this to the church and the 4 pastors visiting from the other church before I went up
to preach. I wasn't expecting that or even suggested it. Set Free is honored to come along side our brothers
and sisters in Christ Jesus in Haiti.
5. Pastor Bobby showed us the 15 acres of farm land that was donated to him. It's 25minute drive north of Port au Prince
going to Saint-Marc. It's a beautiful farm land and on top of the hill it looks over the ocean. It will be the future site to
build the new orphanage, school, clinic, guest house, church, and farm for produce, chickens, and goats.
Praise God with me for all the amazing things He has done.
NEEDS:
(watch the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i231MHa0nKc) You can watch the Haiti at a glance video too.
1. The children need bunk beds. There are 48 children and they are sleeping on the ground. Pastor Bobby and his
wife Darlene and there 2 boys sleep on the ground as well. It's cement ground and is dirty. Many of them are getting
sick from breathing in the dust and their skin has rashes.
We found a place in Haiti that will build medal bunk bed frames for $60each and mattress for $20each.
We hope to buy 25 bunk beds which equals $2,000.
2. We need a big roll of screen for the windows to keep the mosquito's and bugs out.
3. We need cement blocks, wood, and corrugated sheet metal to build a new bathroom and shower facility for the kids.
4. We want to purchase one of those Metal Sheet buildings that come in a kit to send down there to build on the new site.
Before we do anything on the property we need to build a fence around the property for security.
Praise God
A Tile store in Riverside donated boxes of mix matched tile that we are shipping down there to help with the kids
sleeping on the cement rough dusty floors.
I will continue to update you and I am looking for teams of Doctors and Nurses to go do clinics, builders to help demolate
damaged property and build new walls, teachers to help train teaching methods for the teachers at the school, and
pastors/church leaders to train up Haitian pastors and church leaders. Those that want to come need to get a passport,
have their travel shots updated, take malaria pills, and plan for it to be hot.
We located some great place for teams to stay. The guest houses are nice and have showers, electricity, great meals,
and internet. Those that go can not take kids home.
If you or your church is interested, please let me know. I am willing to go down there in July or August after I get back
from the Philippines in June.
Stay tune for info about doing a big Christmas fundraiser for the children. Sometime in October.
